It brings together security experts, researchers, hackers, and privacy enthusiasts from around the state to share knowledge, learn from each other, and discuss emerging trends and challenges in the cybersecurity industry. Paying hackers a “bounty” if they uncover a security bug is commonplace in the cybersecurity industry - but it was a newer concept to researchers studying harmful AI bias.CypherCon is an annual spring hacker / cybersecurity conference that takes place downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In another example, searching for Chowdhury using an early version of Microsoft’s Bing search engine chatbot - which is based on the same technology as ChatGPT but can pull real-time information from the internet - led to a profile that speculated Chowdhury “loves to buy new shoes every month” and made strange and gendered assertions about her physical appearance.Ĭhowdhury helped introduce a method for rewarding the discovery of algorithmic bias to DEF CON’s AI Village in 2021 when she was the head of Twitter’s AI ethics team - a job that has since been eliminated upon Elon Musk’s October takeover of the company. ![]() In one example, known as the “grandma exploit,” users were able to get chatbots to tell them how to make a bomb - a request a commercial chatbot would normally decline - by asking it to pretend it was a grandmother telling a bedtime story about how to make a bomb. “What happens now is kind of a scattershot approach where people find stuff, it goes viral on Twitter,” and then it may or may not get fixed if it’s egregious enough or the person calling attention to it is influential, Chowdhury said. Many others are hobbyists showing off humorous or disturbing outputs on social media until they get banned for violating a product’s terms of service. Some are official “red teams” authorized by the companies to “prompt attack” the AI models to discover their vulnerabilities. There’s already a community of users trying their best to trick chatbots and highlight their flaws. government officials in March at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, where Sven Cattell, founder of DEF CON’s long-running AI Village, and Austin Carson, president of responsible AI nonprofit SeedAI, helped lead a workshop inviting community college students to hack an AI model.Ĭarson said those conversations eventually blossomed into a proposal to test AI language models following the guidelines of the White House’s Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights - a set of principles to limit the impacts of algorithmic bias, give users control over their data and ensure that automated systems are used safely and transparently. The idea of a mass hack caught the attention of U.S. These systems, built on what’s known as large language models, also emulate the cultural biases they’ve learned from being trained upon huge troves of what people have written online. ![]() “We need a lot of people with a wide range of lived experiences, subject matter expertise and backgrounds hacking at these models and trying to find problems that can then go be fixed.”Īnyone who’s tried ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Bing chatbot or Google’s Bard will have quickly learned that they have a tendency to fabricate information and confidently present it as fact. “This is why we need thousands of people,” said Rumman Chowdhury, a coordinator of the mass hacking event planned for this summer’s DEF CON hacker convention in Las Vegas that’s expected to draw several thousand people. Some of the things they’ll be looking to find: How can chatbots be manipulated to cause harm? Will they share the private information we confide in them to other users? And why do they assume a doctor is a man and a nurse is a woman? No sooner did ChatGPT get unleashed than hackers started “jailbreaking” the artificial intelligence chatbot - trying to override its safeguards so it could blurt out something unhinged or obscene.īut now its maker, OpenAI, and other major AI providers such as Google and Microsoft, are coordinating with the Biden administration to let thousands of hackers take a shot at testing the limits of their technology. ![]()

![]() ![]() Understanding how ED performance has been measured in the past will support the selection of measures and inform the development of new measures to address gaps in performance knowledge. It is unsurprising then that input, throughput and output measures such as wait-time, length of stay and patient satisfaction have been used to report on EDs’ performance. Ideally, the design and selection of performance measures should align with the system’s purpose and improvement strategy in order to identify the extent to which the system is working effectively. Understanding the characteristics of those interventions and their limitations can inform the development of new strategies to address common patient flow problems. Identifying effective interventions known to have improved care can support the uptake of those interventions in different contexts. Interventions (e.g., decision-making structure, resource allocation, procedures) to address these factors have been widely implemented, with mixed results. Ĭrowding in EDs is the product of input, throughput and output factors such as the volume of patients arriving to be seen, the time taken to assess and treat patients, and the availability of beds in hospital wards. It extends the time patients spend in ED, and threatens patient outcomes. However, crowding impedes ED staffs’ capacity to provide timely, safe and quality care. EDs must continue to provide care during periods of crowding, and respond to expected changes (e.g., seasonal increase in demand) and unexpected changes (e.g., unanticipated events and varying demand). Over the last two decades, Emergency Department (ED) crowding has become an increasingly common occurrence worldwide. Interventions to improve ED performance address a broad range of ED processes and disciplines. ConclusionsĮD performance measurement is complex, involving automated information technology mechanisms and manual data collection, reflecting the multifaceted nature of ED care. Few interventions reported outcomes across all five outcome domains. The outcomes attributed to interventions used to improve ED performance were categorised into five key domains: time, proportion, process, cost, and clinical outcomes. Two reviews reported on two interventions addressing the role of patients in ED performance, supporting patients’ decisions and providing education. Seventy-four reviews reported 38 different interventions to improve ED performance: 27 interventions describing changes to practice and process (e.g., triage, care transitions, technology), and a further nine interventions describing changes to team composition (e.g., advanced nursing roles, scribes, pharmacy). Three reviews identified 202 individual indicators of ED performance. Narrative synthesis was performed on the 77 included reviews. ![]() Pairs of independent reviewers explored the quality of included reviews using the Risk of Bias in Systematic Reviews tool. Independent reviewers extracted data using a tool specifically designed for the review. Discrepancies were resolved via discussion. Pairs of reviewers independently screened studies’ titles, abstracts, and full-texts for inclusion according to pre-established criteria. Eligibility criteria were: (1) review of primary research studies, published in English (2) discusses a) how performance is measured in the ED, b) interventions used to improve ED performance and their characteristics, c) the role(s) of patients in improving ED performance, and d) the outcomes attributed to interventions used to improve ED performance (3) focuses on a hospital ED context in any country or healthcare system. We performed a scoping review, searching Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Scopus, EMBASE, CINAHL and PubMed (from inception to Jprospectively registered in Open Science Framework ). This review aims to map the research evidence provided by reviews to improve ED performance. Crowding is a complex and challenging issue that affects EDs’ capacity to provide safe, timely and quality care. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Physical addresses range from 0x20000000 to 0x20FFFFFF for peripherals. These solenoids are responsible for controlling the TorqShift Transmission Gears. This is one serious problem and if not taken care of soon enough, this may cause irreversible damage to other parts within the transmission too! Faulty Shift Solenoids If you notice signs of overheated fluid while driving your car, then there might be an issue with the cooling system of your vehicle which further leads to failing TorqShift Transmission Gears. If your truck’s pump fails, we would recommend that you take it to a trusted mechanic right away for repair. The transmission pump present inside the TorqShift Transmission can sometimes fail, causing issues such as lack of pressure to shift gears or even some minor problems like slipping gears. This problem is often seen in Ford F250 and Ford F350 trucks. However, we would recommend that you avoid driving with Reverse Gear until it is properly repaired by an expert mechanic. If your truck’s transmission has Planetary Assembly Problems and you can’t get it fixed immediately, don’t worry! You can still drive the truck in forwarding or neutral gears. If you experience this problem, the reverse gear will only work if the vehicle is moving at a very slow speed. Here are some of the common transmission problems with Ford F250 and Ford F350 trucks: Reverse Planetary Assembly Problems This may cause some issues while driving the truck, so you need to have detailed knowledge about these problems. The Ford 5R110W Transmission (also known as TorqShift Transmission), commonly present in F250 and Ford F350 trucks, often experience issues and problems. All of them can be solved by replacing the faulty components. Some of the common problems include- overheating transmission oil, planetary reverse assembly, or a failed transmission pump. In this regard, Corsair's Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5 kits are about as widely supported as you're going to get, and they have always run at their top speed no matter which motherboard I've used in testing. Now, one thing to note about double data rate (DDR) memory is that it works best in pairs (which is why this RAM is almost always sold in kits of two or four), but every motherboard, processor, and system configuration is going to have a huge impact on what kind of performance you are going to get from your RAM kit, even beyond the speed of the RAM itself. We also only compare modules to other modules running at the same speed and memory profile (XMP/EXPO). This does mean that adding a second module will offer substantially better performance in real-world usage. Some motherboards aren't compatible with some modules under dual-channel configurations, while others will limit the speed of the DDR5 RAM when run in pairs, so needless to say it's hard to give quantifiable data to demonstrate the Dominator Platinum RGB DDR5's performance in a way that makes it comparable across different systems.įor this reason, we only benchmark a single DDR5 module to get comparable performance figures.
